canon photo marathon
the canon photo marathon is back in singapore this year! i did not join the previous years so this will be the first time i’m participating. the format of the competition looks interesting – 3 assignments based upon 3 themes to be completed in 3 hours each. at the end of each assignment, contestants will have to return to the starting point to upload their best photo (without any image editing) before receiving the next assignment.
i’m sure competition will be really stiff and the assignments challenging so i’ll go with the mindset of enjoying myself and doing my darndest. the prizes look really good – a canon 40d (oooh…)and a trip to japan for the ‘best of show’ winner (competitor with the highest aggregate score across the assignments), and various other models for the winners of the individual assignments. do check out the official site for details on registration, prizes, rules and regulations, etc. do that by clicking here. canon will also be hosting a photography seminar conducted by john cosgrove, a veteran photojournalist, one week before the competition. sign up for that by clicking here.
anyway, while i was looking at the canon 40d on dpreview.com, i saw this video that featured canon’s ‘eos integrated cleaning system’, which in a nutshell prevents dust from spoiling your image. i was actually more intrigued by the shutter speed of the canon 1d mark III (the pro flagship model). they just had to run that sequence thrice. we get it, we get, fastest camera in the market… watch the video below.
